Blogging: To Profit or Not To Profit?

A lot of people have some very strong feelings with respect to making money from their blogs. If you think putting banners and text links or adverts on your blog is evil, immoral, unethical, not-hip, lame, greedy, web-rageous, obnoxious, then by all means what-ever you do.

"don’t commercialize your blog." :) "No Profit for You!"

Seriously, If you have mixed feelings about making money from your blogs, then sort out all those feelings first. 

If you think profiting from your site is wonderful, 'most excellent.'  If you think it’s evil, ah well that's fine. But be sure to make-up your mind before you seriously consider rolling down the 

"blogging path."

However If you want to succeed at blogging, you must be determined & passionate. Do what you love.

Don't get me wrong, generating income from your blog is challenging in and of itself', you don’t want to be dealing with self-sabotage at the same time. It should feel genuinely good to earn income from your blogging efforts. You do all the hard work you should be driven by a very healthy ambition to succeed. Listen, If your blog or blogs provide genuine value added and useful content you fully deserve and should expect to earn an income and profit from it. If, however, you find yourself full of doubts over whether blogging for profit is the right path for you.
